Valpolicella RRR

“Sustainable Vineyards & Territory Safeguard”

Valpolicella RRR is a sustainable Grape and Wine Production Protocol based on Integrated Crop Management Practices.

The protocol provides for a certification for both wines and grapes produced by following its guidelines.

The certified wines can be labelled with the RRR Mark

1st “Sustainable Area Certification” in Italy

It has been designed for the Valpolicella wine-region, thus only the wines and the grapes produced within the Valpolicella producing-area can be certified.

RRR is more than a Protocol, it is a Manifesto

“Reduce, Respect, Retrench!”

The Protocol’s Key Factors

The “three Rs” develop into five different areas. Each of them has its own objectives.

BIODIVERSITY
LANDSCAPE
QUALITY OF THE GRAPES
QUALITY OF LIFE
SAVING

HOW DOES RRR WORK?

RRR Protocol has been designed by Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella (the “Wine Board” of Valpolicella) in order to:

  • decrease the usage of chemicals in viticulture
  • protect the environment and the public health
  • save the natural and the company resources

Every vintage, the grape and wine production is monitored and verified by a Third-Party called SIQURIA. Thus, the validity of the certification is exclusively seasonal.
